Alphabet freebie

Well, I made it through the day without a nap. BARELY! LOL! Now, it turns out that my efforts may have been for nothing. I'm getting up early again in the morning, but I'm going to drive over to the other coast and visit a friend that lives in Naples. I'll be staying for a night or two so I doubt I'll be getting to bed early again until I get back.

I've got an extra goodie for you today. I made this pink alphabet for something else and then didn't use it so I'm giving it to you. I hope you can use it for something. It's a full set of upper and lower case letters. There aren't any numbers or symbols, but if you need or want them let me know and I'll try to get those made.

I've preposted a couple days worth of wordart for you and I'll see you when I get back!

Enjoy your day!

Greased Lightning!

I got up early just like I had planned and now I'm trying hard not to take a nap. LOL! It's going to be even harder to get back on a regular schedule than I thought it was going to be.

I decided to do some online window shopping to occupy the extra time I gained by waking up before noon and wanted to share an awesome kit with you that Scraps of Ellay has in the store at Stuff to Scrap.
This kit is called Greased Lightning and it has 16 papers, over 40 elements and an alphabet that comes in 3 different colors. The best part is that this kit is on sell for 25% off right now! Just look at this preview...

Now, if you're like me you just can't help but sing the song Greased Lightning when you look at this kit and that's OK. LOL! Ellay did make the kit with the movie in mind, but it will work for any of your 50's theme party pictures or even for pictures of the car buff in your life.

I didn't go to school in the 50's, but the kit does remind me of the little North Carolina town where I went to high school. There wasn't a whole lot to do! Friday nights were for football games and Papa's Pizza. Saturday nights were for "dragging main". Everyone and I do mean EVERYONE got in their cars and headed downtown. You rode the circle around the courthouse went down Main Street, turned around in the Hardee's parking lot and rode back toward the courthouse again. The whole time your windows were rolled down and you talked to the people in the other cars. Sounds exciting doesn't it? Well, it was at the time. LOL! People even came from surrounding towns to "drag main" with us.

Eventually, business owners complained and they passed a law making it illegal for anyone to "drag main". The last time I visited that little town on a weekend night Main Street was empty. It looked a little sad and lonely to me.

Now, there's even a facebook group for people who used to "drag main". So, at least the memory lives on....

Today was fun

So, I did get Orange Croc Guy to take the boat out today. Of course, I didn't have to twist his arm too hard. LOL! We took a short ride then came back and he grilled some steaks on the grill. YUMMY!

I made sure we were in front of the TV for Big Brother. If you're watching the show---or even if you aren't---go to CBS and vote for Jeff to get the Coup D’etat. I don't know Jeff or anything like that. He and Jordan are just my favorites on the show and they've been on the wrong end of everything that's happened so far. They deserve a break! Plus, I know he'll use it to get out one of the others that I really don't like at all. LOL!

Now, I'm actually going to bed. I go back to school in a couple of weeks and I need to get used to getting up early again.
